Slut Walk was renamed Besharmi Morcha but the contextualisation ended there. The organisers of the morcha have not bothered to see if this really works in Indian context. How about we take on more pressing issues instead, asks Rashmi  Vallabhajosyula.

To all my friends going rah-rah on Slut Walk aka Besharmi Morcha, in Bhopal and New Delhi, may your voices be loud, your posters hard- hitting, may your morcha be successful and may you get all the media coverage you can possibly get.  But count me out.

What is it about “legendary” painter M F Hussain vis-à-vis his work, women, life and letters? And why hasn’t he learnt to perpetrate one Truth / falsehood, like, for instance is he fundamentally secular, and he is an Indian or a Qatar national finally?
